Dear Rainbow Unicorn
I wish you'd visit more. I miss riding with you across fields of buttercups and dancing under the sun. Today a boy named Jamie said you wouldn't come back to me and I told him he'd see, you'd take me flying a billion feet above the playground someday, and he'd be sad because he'd be the only one who wouldn't get to ride you because he was a meanie face.
And meanie faces don’t believe in things like you, I told him you’d be back and that you’d fly on those big rainbow wings back to my dreams because you promised you’d always be here for me, no matter how big I got, because we are best friends an

The Great Kings of Our Past
“There was a time when the grandeur of stars in the sky did not exist. Back when the Great Kings of our past graced this earth with their presence.” The crowned creature lifts his large muzzle to look up into the star-shaped figures that beheld the astonishing glory above. “They lived and breathed, just as you and I do now.”
“Ho…how did they become a part of the sky?” a tiny spotted Cheetah cub speaks up from her nook hidden beneath the mighty Lion.
The Lion’s gaze briefly lowers to the three orphaned cubs at his paws, to look tenderly into their innocent eyes.

'There was a time,
when fireflies knew
what my heart would say
and when my feet would dance.
There was a time,
when the night
was my golden shield,
and the stars shown
along my endless path.
There was a time,
when singing crickets
resounded their timeless
melodies across the
atmosphere.
There was a time,
when you were here
a mere breath separated us,
and when your arms could
shelter me.
There was a time,
when my heart was full,
and my soul could wish for
nothing more than your love.
Now... now the time is gone
the fireflies sleep
and the stars don't shine,
the crickets don't sing,
and I'm cold without your
embrace....
But... there was a
You and me were two entwined souls,
with no space between our existence.
Our love burned the wildfire to life,
set ablaze by these golden trees.
The time of friction -scribed-
out centimeters between us.
The empty space sent shivers down my spine.
Day by brutal day the meters -merged-
a part of our lives.
Passionate embraces fused into ice cold glares.
Sweet stolen kisses linked fingers with hated snares.
You and I were strangers etched from different stones,
cast aside from every heart patter, heart shatter.
With space and time we let each other go,
tossed into the abyss...to watch each other drown.
We are all created from Legends,
of long forgotten dreams.
Clouds once captured us in stainless white sheets.
Bays of eternal seas danced graceful
-unremembered- tides against our feet.
Each night we could see the stars -shout-
their names to the galaxy.
Adjacent planets stretched out endless
arms to hug us goodnight.
There was a time when my home planet was-
-perfect and safe. Where our sanctuary rested in-
-peaceful, comforting, holy clouds.
Now, now my planet is a floating dream
lodged in my restless mind.
Where my true home forever sleeps.
I had this dream once, when death was a distant distress call waiting to ring.
I think I was naive, a simple girl believing in the impossible, that life was perfectly flawed.
So I took his big hand and clung to his love like it was a fountain of youth, keeping me innocent.
Only, all fairy-tales have to come to an end, with the evil witch –death- knocking at the door.
I guess I had the right to cling to this hope, that I would have him forever with me.
Because I loved him more than the galaxy can breathe.
Now he is gone, and I am left sinking in this abyss.
I am…
Four words to a page,
Snowflakes on car windows.
Daggers welded by the draw of a tongue,
Fire flickering on sun tanned skin.
I am…
Blades of grass blowing in the wind,
Tidal waves swallowing islands in my wake.
An ember dying for the very first-last time,
Stainless cotton candy clouds-
-floating in the dreams of the innocent.
I am…
Gunfire, birthing a war,
Heated words molding lovers into haters.
Truths crafted into lies,
Life crammed into death.
I am…
Secret kisses, tamed embraces,
Hidden lovers with hurricane force winds –love-.
Two souls entwined by fate, never to part.
Lovers mark, lovers grip,
I am

my heart was shaken
broken,
ripped,
cascaded
from my chest.
You held me and loved,
cherished me and adored me.
You often said I made you proud,
even when I didn’t mean to do it.
Now I strive to make you proud,
by continuing to do all the things
I once did, cause I know you are still watching.
I see your face I see your eyes
shining like a beacon of light.
You were tough, but you were kind,
always with a bit of advice to make it right.
You taught me to respect my elders,
and put God first in my life.
And that compassion creates character.
You were arms to hold me,
a chest to stable me,
words to comfort me,
and
Blue skies with the summer sun.
Bright red wings stretch to embrace
the warm kiss of the sun’s rays.
Snowy fluffed clouds seek to hide
the glow of the sun’s smile.
I soar past its puffy blanket to
feel my lover once again.
Violent rain pelts down, thunder crashes around me.
The lightning is the camera to my desperate attempt
at reaching the one who has been my constant companion.
I flap with the earnestness of a humming birds flight.
I fight against the storm but I break beneath the weight
of its relentless fury.
I fall… I fall… I fall…
to the cursed soaked earth…
Weak from the struggle I become a ho
Gotta fight another fight - I gotta run another night
Get it out - check it out
I'm on my way and it don't feel right.
‘I’ve given my everything,
fought with all my God-given strength.
I dug my heels in, bucked with vengeance,
reared with the fear of The Almighty.
But I wasn’t strong enough,
my will, my spirit were too sheltered.
I knelled in defeat to an evil man's hatred.’
I gotta get me back - I can't be beat and that's a fact
It's Okay - I'll find a way
You ain't gonna take me down no way.
‘Sometimes in life you have to be beat
to see yourself as something worth having.
But you fight until the very end,
