    I built up these walls, Set them around my heart. So no one could reach it, But the stone was starting to kill me. Though I didn't seem to realize- -what was causing this pain inside. I closed my eyes and prayed, And as the words came. As I spoke openly to my God, I realized what I'd done. Tears filled my eyes- -as I asked Him to break them down. So I wouldn't be trapped- - inside any longer. I wanted these walls to crumble, Before it was me who would take the fall.

I really like the imagery and the metaphors you've used in this piece! I feel as if... you've made it more life-like, as if we were the ones truly experiencing what's happening here.

It's a poignant piece, too. I like how you've set the scene in the first stanza, and then explained further on. The last two lines are the clincher, though. They really create some profound impact.

Intense stuff, I must say... 'tis well written. :)
