Sapphire.
Newborn eyes blinking for the first time,
Staring up into the big sparkling sky,
To watch the rise of the ocean's waves.
These crashing waves echoing,
A dragon's deep-throated cry,
In midnights cricketed songs
Salt carelessly gulped in innocence,
Honeysuckle sap seeping soundlessly in,
Tasting like the blood of blueberries.
Baby soft blanket, gripped tenderly,
The smooth arch sleek as dolphin skin;
The rough curve weaved with snake scales.
Paradise is written in this flawless blue.

Because ~SurrealCachinnation was going to harass me if I didn't write this I decided it would be a wise move to go ahead and write it. Just wont count it for the NaPoWriMo.
Sapphire is my birthstone, so before I wrote Ruby I thought about writing about Sapphire, which I told her but I changed my mind and picked Ruby instead.
So ~SurrealCachinnation and I wrote another Color poem, but using our birthstones. You should go read her Opal piece, because it's ten times better than this!
